For ranged combat, Dwarfs have traditionally relied on compact yet powerful crossbows, often sporting elaborate loading and cocking mechanisms designed to increase their rate of fire. Dwarf guns, however, are a relatively recent invention, and the Dwarfs were the first to master the art of blackpowder and apply it to the art of ballistics, a field in which are are pre-eminent masters.
